The holidays are coming!
Are you ready? Is your business ready?
With myBeeHyve, you are ready to “Jingle All the Way” to working smarter, not harder this season! We share a few tips to manage your contacts during the holidays like a boss … even with tinsel and lights glistening all around.
Schedule your days off NOW!
You’re making your list and checking it twice. Parties. Gifts. Special goodies to bake. Visits to make. Contacts to engage. Sales to promote. Where are YOU on that list?
Many of us are hardwired to put ourselves dead last and work without a break. Here’s the downside to that: when we never set aside “me time,” we cannot hope to keep up with all our commitments to others.
How do you avoid burnout, especially during this busy season? Pull out your calendar and take a look. What dates are for your family? Block them off! Now, choose a few days in December and January for YOU. Take your time with this. Think about your obligations. Consider years past. You probably have certain days where you’re extra worn down.
Maybe you have energy to spare all through Christmas, and adrenaline pushes you through the ball drop and the lucky New Year dinner. When that calendar flips to January 2, though, you are down for the count. Schedule a few days there.
Perhaps you need time right before family get-togethers to re-energize and prepare mentally and emotionally. Maybe that time is right after you’ve celebrated without someone dear for the first time. Or, you may need both. Let’s face it—holidays aren’t all jingle bells and boughs of holly.
Block off that time for yourself and make sure to share those dates with your significant other. Let them know this time is yours. Now you have a clear view of your work schedule for the next couple of months—congratulations!
Plan out your promos.
Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday may be over; but many of your customers still have shopping to do. The turkey with all the trimmings may have set their Christmas shopping back a few weeks.
That’s perfect for you, though. Now the clock is ticking, and they’re waiting for a perfectly-timed promo from you. Have a BOGO you can offer? That’s perfect for the cousins. Give a percentage off to your last-minute shoppers. They’ll appreciate it. Offer a smaller item with purchase. Those make ideal hostess gifts.
Make your promo clear and concise with a specific deadline. Frantic shoppers won’t hunt for the deal or how long it’s available.
Show your creative side with an eye-catching graphic. Pleasing imagery draws your customers and convinces them to click through your call to action and make a purchase.
Think through your marketing.
You can’t just toss out emails or social media blasts when the mood strikes. Effective marketing requires planning. You know this, of course. But, this season requires even more careful consideration. You can manage your contacts during the holidays.
The winter months bring several celebrations to highlight as you share your products. Christmas isn’t the only gift-giving holiday during this time. If you have international customers, remember to research their holidays as well.
Your emails and marketing should show YOU—your style, character, values, and beliefs. When customers see what’s important to you, they’ll know you care about and believe in the product you sell.
Get to know your customers, too, and make sure what you’re sharing with them includes items they want. Not everyone’s interested in Christmas tree ornaments, but who doesn’t love a sale on lotions or housewares to last a lifetime?
Schedule all contacts for the season.
You’ve got your work days scheduled. Promos are planned, and you’ve streamlined your marketing. You’re ready to schedule your contacts now. How can you manage your contacts during the holidays?
Make note of all shipping deadlines. When is the last date to order and receive by Christmas via various shipping methods? Plan a blast right before each.
Know when your company’s upcoming sales are and share them. After Christmas, your customers may have gift money to spend. If you know what items they’ve been considering or keeping on their wish list, now’s the time to remind them!
And, don’t forget your follow-ups. Plan and schedule these and keep your daily task lists bumping during your holiday work days!
